Maggie Glasgow – Greenville Women Giving, Greenville, SC
“I love seeing women come together, share knowledge and resources, open up leadership opportunities, and make informed decisions to give back and grow their communities.”
Maggie serves as Immediate Past Co-Chair of Philanos. She is a past co-chair for Greenville Women Giving (Greenville, SC). She served as a board member for 13 years, and as a co-chair for four years. She also served as chair of the education, strategic planning, and leadership development committees. Prior to retiring and moving to Greenville, Maggie was an academic sociologist, teaching at Bluefield College in Bluefield, Virginia for over a decade, retiring as chair of the Social Science Division.
Maggie has a BA in journalism from the University of North Dakota, BA in Sociology from Florida Atlantic University, MA and PhD in Sociology from Duke University. She brings her love of research, data analysis, writing, advocating for women and leadership development to this work.
Maggie lives with her husband Lowrie in Greenville where they enjoy reading, traveling, and gardening as well as time with their three children and seven adorable grandchildren.
